Clever Crazes for Kids (CCK) is a Web-based wellness program for children, ages 6 to 12, that uses animation, competitive games, valuable information and educational challenges to help students increase daily physical activity, adopt healthy eating habits, maintain positive self-esteem and strong character, and develop environmentally friendly habits. Accessible via the Web site, www.clevercrazes.com, the program is designed to be a safe and fun place for young people to learn more about healthy living. The site has been certified safe for children by TRUSTe®, a recognized leader in online privacy services.
CCK is all about “edu-tainment,” and uses self-selected “avatars” (animated characters) to model behaviors essential to healthy physical, mental and character development. A series of games and educational challenges enable students to learn while competing with each other in four themed environments: Nutrition, Fitness, Self-Esteem, and Sustainability (green living).
At the heart of the program is an incentive competition that awards bi-monthly cash prizes of $2,000-$5,000 to schools with the highest percentage of participating students, as well as those with the highest-scoring students. Prizes will be awarded to schools on behalf of the participating students. No prizes will be awarded to individuals.
